When Sipping Wine Leads to Sowing a (Seed)

Do you suppose it’s bad that I love how a company managed to connect wine with an idea for a line of healthy body care products? No?  Well, me either! In fact, I call it genius! That is exactly what the folks at Seed did when they wanted to created a line of products that would have a low impact on the environment while at the same time creating safe lotions and soaps for us to use on our bodies.  Now, every time I take a sip of wine or a swig of coffee, my wheels will be spinning wondering what I could possibly come up with for an idea like theirs.  Oh, who am I kidding?  Aside from the fact that I use the argument there are health benefits to drinking both of them,  I really can’t think of anything further or better to create due to my love for these fabulous beverages.

I have to say, though, that I am really glad that Seed did.  Their story got me thinking, though.  Knowing someone’s story is so important, I think.  It adds another layer of a connection to a product.  They weren’t some big corporation wanting to add to their product line and ultimately their profit margin.  Instead, they were a couple looking to their future and their desire to have a family and used that as a motivation to change their environment to a more non-toxic one and in the process create products that would do the same for their customers and their families.  Don’t sit there and call me naive.  I am not so silly to think that they obviously hope to make money and a profitable business from their products.  This is the bottom line for many companies, but there is a big difference.  Many of those other companies don’t care about being environmentally responsible or about how toxic their products are for our bodies or the bodies of our children.
So, maybe I am wrong. Maybe Seed does inspire me.  They inspire me to believe there can be more companies who will create products that are safe and non-toxic and actually use the same type of practices during the production of those products.
I have found this to be one of the biggest challenges as I live a “green” lifestyle.  It is one thing to find a product you love, it is another to find that the company behind that product is actually behaving responsibly in their production methods. As consumers, we have to stay on top of this because it is our purchases that send the message of what we are demanding for our families.  A company like Seed gets that message loud and clear.

Hi! I found you on MBC and you have a new follower.

I made it a point when I started GumdropSwap, to let my customers get to know ME and why I launched the business. I was a mom who saw a need and creatively filled it. It's important to see that same transparency when I patronize other businesses. Thank you for sharing.
