What’s in Your DVR? Here’s a Peek at Mine!

I need to give myself a pat on the back. I’m seven days into November’s NaBloPoMo and still going strong. I think I’ll high-five my right hand with my left hand because I’m feeling so pleased with myself. Okay, now that I’m done bragging I’ll admit to drawing a bit of blank when I sat down to write today, so I’m going to cheat a little and steal an idea I saw over on my friend Colleen’s blog. She recently shared everything in her DVR and it got me thinking about all of the things I record throughout the week. It turns out, we like a lot of television shows. Don’t judge.

Here’s the lowdown from my DVR:

Sunday:

  • The Amazing Race
  • Homeland
  • Total Divas (Paul’s, not mine. You can go ahead and judge him if you want.)

Monday:

  • The Price is Right (I was once a contestant and Cody loves it, so we always watch together when he gets home from school.)
  • The Young and the Restless – I simply can’t quit my soap operas.
  • The Bold and the Beautiful – see above
  • Bones – If you aren’t watching this show, I’m not sure how we’re friends.
  • WWE Monday Night Raw (This one belongs to Paul and Nick. Yes, they totally know it’s fake.)
  • Hostages – If you like to get angry and shout profanities at the television, you should totally watch this show. Paul constantly feels the need to point out that they can’t hear me every time we watch, but I DON’T CARE.

Tuesday:

  • The Price is Right
  • The Young and the Restless
  • The Bold and the Beautiful
  • The Biggest Loser
  • Brooklyn Nine-Nine – This one has sort of fizzled out for me. Not as funny as I hoped it would be.
  • New Girl –  I love Zooey Deschanel. That is all.
  • The Mindy Project – Another one that is losing it’s pull for me.
  • Chopped – I’m a food show junkie. This one is mine. All mine.

Wednesday:

  • The Price is Right
  • The Young and the Restless
  • The Bold and the Beautiful
  • Survivor
  • Modern Family – The best comedy in a very long time and this time I mean it….if you aren’t watching this show we probably shouldn’t be friends.
  • Top Chef – Confession: I have a bit of a crush on Tom Colicchio.

Thursday:

  • The Price is Right
  • The Young and the Restless
  • The Bold and the Beautiful
  • The Big Bang Theory – Okay, here’s the deal on this one. It brings my ENTIRE family to the living room at one time to watch something together. That in itself is reason enough to love a show, but also? It’s the Big Bang BANG and if you aren’t watching this one, we are probably already not friends.
  • Grey’s Anatomy

Friday:

  • The Price is Right
  • The Young and the Restless
  • The Bold and the Beautiful
  • WWE Smackdown (Another one for Paul and Nick.)

Saturday:

Empty…….any suggestions?

Okay, phew. That’s a lot of shows, but there’s still plenty of room for more and I feel not one ounce of guilt or shame. What’s in your DVR? And don’t tell me you still record shows on VHS tapes because nobody does that anymore. Well, unless you’re my aunt who still did up until several months ago when she got a DVR and we welcomed her to the 21st century. It was a beautiful day.

  1. Wow, you have a lot of shows. I can’t keep up with all that!!!

    Our must-sees are:
    The Walking Dead
    Homeland
    How I Met Your Mother
    Parks & Rec
    Modern Family
Mad Men (when it comes back!)

And I think that’s pretty much it. ‘Cause Breaking Bad ended. 🙁

Oh and I’ll watch True Blood when it comes back. My husband refuses, though.

Also? We dislike Big Bang Theory very much. You still love me, right?

    • Okay, first I have to say I’m shocked you don’t like Big Bang Theory, especially when you says you dislike it VERY much. What is that all about? Of course I still love you, but I simply do NOT understand. 😉 Also? I lost interest in Breaking Bad after, like, two episodes. Should I have given it more of a chance?
