Review of Larabars – Super Healthfood in a Bar

I simply cannot go without sharing one of my absolute favorite “handy” healthfoods with you.  For the most part, I like to bake my own treats for my family and for myself, but sometimes for convenience reasons we all have to grab something quick and on the go.  Of course for many people that leads to unhealthy choices.  One of my absolute favorites to carry in my purse and to have on hand at home are Larabars.  I simply love them! They are delicious and super healthy, as in gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, non-gmo, vegan, and kosher.  Oh, and they are made with REAL whole, sometimes raw and/or organic, foods.  All of that packed into a little bar.
A while back I found them on Twitter and, of course, I had to start following them!  Because they are so darn kind at that company(or maybe it was because I bugged them so much), they offered to send me some bars to try.  Of course I was thrilled because for the most part I only buy the Apple Pie bar.  It is my favorite and oh, so yummy!  I loved trying all the flavors they sent and always recommend their bars to anyone wanting something on-the-go that is healthy, too.

  1. Oh I looove larabars! well I guess I should say I love the Chocolate Coconut Bar as that's the only one I ever buy! yummy! I think I need to try some of the other ones, nice to hear what others like – helps making the decision of what kind to buy easier.

  2. I love Larabars too! My favorite flavors are Peanut Butter Cookie, Cinnamon Roll, and Coconut Cream Pie. Yum, and totally natural!

If you are ever interested in making your own, check out the recipes on Chocolate Covered Katie. She has a ton of variations, and I have tried several of hers and made a few of my own by looking at the Larabar packages to see what their ingredients are. It's been fun to try out different ideas and these treats have become my new bring-along snack to gatherings with friends and family (I used to bake cookies or brownies) and I haven't gotten any complaints yet!
