‘Playing House’ Review – A Fun New Comedy on USA Network

Playing House Review

When it comes to television shows, a really good comedy will always be my favorite, but the problem is that there are very few great shows that can make me (and my entire family) laugh for nearly thirty minutes at a time. Recently I was introduced to the new USA Network show Playing House and I was actually surprised I had not heard of it before two weeks ago because I’m always on the lookout for a new comedy to watch.

In the new series, childhood best friends Maggie Caruso (Lennon Parham, “Best Friends Forever”) and Emma Carter (Jessica St. Clair, “Best Friends Forever”) have shared countless adventures growing up together in the charming town of Pinebrook, CT. Now, Maggie and Emma are in store for one of their biggest adventures—raising a baby. When Maggie discovers that her husband is having an online affair with a muscular German woman, Emma gives up her burgeoning business career in China to stay in their hometown and help Maggie raise her baby.

As a fun added bonus, and probably my favorite thing about Playing House, is the fact that the actresses Lennon and Jessica are not only both new moms, but they are also best friends in real life! How much fun would it be to raise babies and work together with your BFF? Pretty darn fun if you ask me!

Last weekend I invited a few of my own girlfriends over for a Playing House Party to chat, sip some wine, and watch a couple episodes of this fun new show from Universal Cable Productions. First and foremost we all laughed, especially during the pilot because not only do the main actresses have great chemistry, but so does the rest of the cast. We all especially agreed that Keegan-Michael Key, who plays a cop and former boyfriend to Emma, Mark Rodriquez, was not only easy on the eyes, but also quite funny. While my friends and I only watched two episodes together I was pleased to find the rest of the first season available in my cable’s OnDemand menu, so I enjoyed several more episodes, and now I’m really looking forward to the season finale which airs tomorrow, June 17th, at 10 p.m. on USA and the best part is it will be a whole hour of fun! If you are looking for a new comedy then you are in luck because you can either check your OnDemand menu and hopefully you’ll get lucky just like I did or you can head over to the Playing House website and get caught up on the entire season before the finale tomorrow night! So who’s up for a little binge-watching? Come on, you know you wanna! Grab your favorite box of wine, fill up your glass, make a huge bowl of popcorn and get ready to laugh your way through the entire first season of this adorable new comedy and don’t forget to tune in to the finale tomorrow night!

Disclosure: This party was made possible by Universal Cable Productions, but as always opinions are my own.
