MyFitnessPal App Review & How to Stick to New Year’s Resolutions

Disclosure: I’m a compensated member of U.S. Cellular’s Better Moments Blogger Brigade, but all opinions are my own. I’m pleased to share news and product information with you as part of my ongoing relationship with U.S. Cellular.

Did you make any New Year’s resolutions at the beginning of the year? While I didn’t write out a list, I did think of some things I’d like to continue working on as well as some new personal goals. Most of my goals center around my family as well as health and fitness, like the fact that I’m currently training for my very first half marathon next month, so I suppose a fair resolution would be to be more focused and disciplined in order to achieve the goals I’ve set for myself. I love how technology, especially my U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy S4, makes it so easy and convenient to keep track of my goals. I especially love that mobile devices, like tablets and smart phonesmake it super simple to get organized with apps that download in seconds, but offer hours of help and support. Whether your goals are health-related or financially-focused, there is most likely an app to help keep you on track throughout the year, so there is literally no excuse to keep you from achieving your goals.

Here are some great examples of helpful apps you can download right now to get you started:

Get Fit with MyFitnessPal: This app can help you stick to your workout plan and keep you focused while you improve your fitness and get in shape. It also has a database of over 3,000,000 foods so you can keep track of your daily calorie intake. MyFitnessPal also connects you to your friends so that you can cheer each other on and keep each other motivated.

Manage your finances with Mint: If you want to improve your money management then Mint is the app for you! Mint analyzes your personal accounts and is a handy way to keep track of your spending, come up with a budget, and begin saving money. The app will even send you friendly bill reminders according to your own settings.

The app allows you to track your progress and earn badges while challenging yourself to become proficient in topics you might never thought you could have.

Stay in touch with SkypeAfter the holidays are done and the decorations are put away it is often challenging to keep in touch with family and friends, but video communication apps like Skype help make that a whole lot easier.  It enables us a unique opportunity to create better moments with with the people we love so they don’t seem quite so far away. Skype allows you to have a face-to-face conversation with another person, even if they are thousands of miles away.

What are your New Year’s Resolutions? Are you using a mobile device, or maybe that shiny new iPad Air you got for Christmas, to keep you focused and on track to meet your goals in the upcoming year?

  1. I started off the year with the good intentions of limiting my attachment, no addiction to my smart phone and all things digital. Your list just caused my relaspe – kidding!

Thanks for the list of useful resources.
