Me According to my son

I saw this post a while back, okay a long while back, on my friend Mariana’s blog and I knew immediately that I wanted to have some fun and see how Nick would answer some questions about me. I love to hear a child’s perspective on the people and events in their world. I think we can learn so much from them and their unique insights, sometimes they are super serious or really silly, but either way I find it to be a great tool for me as a Mom to learn a little and see if there might be some areas I can improve on or some that I should never change.

I should mention that Nick is 12 and I initially thought he would find it way uncool to answer questions about his Mom for a blog post, but he was totally up for it and took it way more seriously than he needed to because he kept expressing that he wasn’t sure what the right answers were. I kept assuring him that there weren’t any right or wrong answers, just that he had to be honest and answer with the first thing that came to mind on each question. Once he got rolling, he seemed to really enjoy himself and I learned a few things when I read his answers.

1.What is something I always say to you? I Love you

2. What makes me happy? Knowing that I’m Happy

3. What makes me sad? Knowing that I had a bad day at school

4. How do I make you laugh? When you’re  being silly

8. What is my favorite thing to do? Twitter

9. What do I do when you’re not around? Take care of the house

10. If I become famous, what will it be for? Blogging

11. What am I really good at? Everything

13. What is my job? Internet Blogger

14. What is my favorite food? Chocolate

15. What makes you proud of me? Your perseverance

16. What makes me proud of you? When I get good grades

17. If I were a cartoon character, who would I be? Minnie Mouse

18. What do you and I do together? Play games

19. How are we the same? We are both happy a lot

20. How are you and I different? I’m a male and you’re a female

21. How do you know that I love you? Because you’re my Mom and you say it to me every day

22. Where is my favorite place to go? Walt DisneyWorld

24. What would I do with a million dollars? Move you, Me, Dad, and Cody to California and get season passes to Walt Disneyland

25. What do you wish you could go and do with me? Go to Bell the Cat every day

That was the end of the questions……but Nick added one more sweet little sentiment……..

  1. I love it! I’m gonna copy you. 😀

    • Yes, please do!! I look forward to seeing the answers your son gives. I think the *little* kids come up with some of the best responses. 🙂

  2. Cheryle Barnes says

  3. I absolutely love this! I have three little guys that I’m going to share with. I excited for you to get a season pass to Disney 🙂

    • I thought it was so fun to see his perspective and please share if you write a post. 🙂 Now I’m off to see about getting that million dollars. LOL

  4. Minnie Mouse! How cute! This is the sweetest interview, Cathy! You can totally feel the love. Maya also had a hard time with some of the questions – she would give me answers that she thought I wanted to hear LOL. This was originally supposed to be a video, but there were so many ‘um’s and ‘wait, let me start over’s that I just ended up transcribing it. Thanks for the shout-out 🙂

    • I thought Minnie Mouse was very cute, too! It was fun to just see his thoughts and answers to the questions – I’m glad I saw it on your blog. 🙂
