Have you ever made a New Year’s resolution, but then for one reason or another didn’t follow through and by the end of the year you couldn’t even remember the goal you had set for yourself in the first place? I know I have and then I would start feeling frustrated and disappointed in myself for not keeping better track and staying focused on the resolutions I had set for myself. This year, though, I decided to set goals that I can realistically achieve. Mostly because I plan to use my Samsung Galaxy S5 and my Apple iPad mini, along with some helpful apps to keep me on track toward reaching my goals in 2015.
Let’s face it, life gets busy and we all need a little helpful reminder every now and then to keep us focused and motivated to stick to our New Year’s resolutions, which is why I love that there are so many great apps out there to help us do just that! Whether your goal is to get fit, get organized, or save more money in 2015 there is technology available to help you succeed. I don’t know about you, but I never leave home without my smartphone and I often don’t go far without my tablet. They have both simplified my days in so many ways that I often wonder how I managed to get by without them in my life. No, really. How did we survive without all of these handy gadgets?! I guess it really doesn’t matter because we have them now and I’m not giving mine up anytime soon and I bet you aren’t either.
Here are a few great apps to help you start off 2015 on the right foot no matter what kind of goal you have set for yourself!
- The Runtastic Six Pack app is terrific for people who want to lose weight or improve their fitness. It’s a free app that lets you exercise at home by creating personalized workouts with a virtual personal trainer who will show you the correct way to do new exercises.
- The Runtastic Six Pack, along with its 50 workout routines can be synced with the UP by Jawbone – a health and fitness wristband that can track your calories, your daily activities, and your sleeping patterns, then recommend simple changes to help you achieve your goals.
- The Any.Do app is an award-winner that’s excellent for helping you get organized. It lets you create to-do lists that need to be completed and allows you to organize them by category and order of importance. You can set reminders and easily transfer your tasks from a mobile device to a computer to help you stay on top of any to-do list, regardless of your location. If there’s one thing I need to do better in 2015, it’s staying organized, so I think there’s a lot to love about this app!
- Like a lot of people, you have probably resolved to spend more time with friends and family throughout the year, which is why you would love the GroupMe app! It helps everyone in your circle to keep in touch and make plans, no matter how far apart your live from each other. The app even lets you create different groups and each member can share news, pictures, videos, and texts keeping everyone updated instantly with whatever is going on in their life. I love this one for when I travel without my family and want to share my adventure with them even if they can’t be with me in person.
- Saving money is one of the most common of New Year’s Resolutions and the Check app is a great way to keep you on track to sticking to that goal. You can link bills, bank accounts and credit card information and receive notifications when a payment is due and even set up automatic payments if you prefer!
What do you hope to accomplish in 2015? Now that I’ve shared my goals and resolutions I hope you’ll share yours with me and I especially hope you’ll consider downloading a few of these apps to help keep you on track to reaching every goal you set for yourself. Happy New Year!
