I wish we didn’t need to bother with daylight savings

Daylight savings is great……….when you first wake up in the morning, but at around four o’clock in the afternoon when it starts to get dark and I feel like I need a triple espresso, I’m pretty much done with it. Shut up! Before daylight savings I usually felt like I only needed a double espresso at that time of the day, there’s a difference. Having to get up at 6 a.m. on school days, I so appreciate that there is now light peeking through my blinds when I get up in the morning, but somehow I forget about just how great that is when it’s dark at 5 p.m. and I can no longer go out for an evening walk to work off some of the pasta dinner that I just ate. This makes me even more grumpy and self-conscious about my weight and the fact that I shouldn’t have stood at the stove picking the vegetables out of the pot before putting away the leftovers. I blame it all on daylight savings and I’m wondering who the heck came up with this bright idea and I’m also thinking that a move to Arizona might be really awesome. I mean, it’s warm there, they don’t recognize daylight savings, it’s warm there. I’m just wondering one thing, how do I get something this important on the ballot? If you could help me with that, I’d be so grateful.

  1. I am still recovering from it. It has never affected me but this year…all I wanted to do is sleep since the clocks went back and it means I can’t ride my bike to work anymore…too dark when I am heading home at 5:15…yuck!

  2. I am right there with you. This daylight savings crap makes me want to be in bed by 5 p.m. My kids get off of the bus at like 5 p.m. and it’s almost dark. Boo!

  3. We don’t do daylight savings in Hawaii too =)
