When I first started this blog I had this grand idea of learning and sharing lots of great information about being green and hopefully motivating, maybe even inspiring, others to implement some eco-friendly habits into their lives. I wanted to have fun with it, for the most part. I didn’t think ahead enough to realize how tough it can be to maintain a niche blog, a successful one, no less. When you are the sole writer of a blog with no content from any contributors it’s a huge struggle to come up with new and fresh content on a regular basis. I prefer to be the only writer on my blog, at least for now, so this is definitely a struggle for me. I want to write more about my opinions, the school lunch program in my kids’ district, maybe even technology, but I realize with a blog title that implies green topics, I feel like for the most part, I need to stick to those topics. This is starting to feel really restrictive for me. If you know me, you know I don’t particularly like having restrictions put on me, being stuck in a box of sorts. So, what’s a blogger to do? Well, this blogger is going to broaden her horizons. I’m going to launch a whole new blog where the topics can be anything from parenting to my favorite iPad app, and maybe a few sprinkles of great environmentally friendly content mixed in for fun. Mainly, it will be more me.
I plan to have more fun and feel more free with what I write and I hope you will all stick with me and ultimately get to know me a little better and invite your friends to do the same.
2011 is going to be a wonderful year!
