U.S. Cellular Rewards Program & How to Earn Faster Phone Upgrades

I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for ways to save money and get the best deals for my family. Whether it’s our cable bill or our cell phone bill, every little bit helps, but sometimes it’s easy to forget there could be a way to get a discount. Many times it is as easy as calling your provider to see if there is a plan that suits your needs better than your current one with the added bonus of saving you a few dollars every month. Several months ago I did just that when I realized our current U.S. Cellular plan wasn’t quite covering everything we needed as a family. When the representative mentioned their Belief Plans and Rewards Program I asked to hear more. I mean, let’s face it, if there is a way to get a better deal on my cellular bill and earn rewards along the way, I’d be crazy not to at least consider it. I have to begin by saying that I am always pleased when I need to call U.S. Cellular’s customer service department with questions. They are always helpful and thorough and willing to answer my questions without rushing me off the phone. It really didn’t take much to convince me that switching to a Rewards Program plan was a smart move and here are a few reasons why:

  • Simply earning points every single month for being on a rewards-eligible plan!
  • More features for the entire family with very little increase in price. We now have unlimited texting and I’m really not sure how we managed to get by without it before this switch.
  • A 5% discount if I subscribed to the auto-pay feature and have my bill amount deducted directly from my checking account every month. There is even flexibility with this feature that gives you the option to have the payment deducted immediately or on your due date. You can even change the due date if for some reason it doesn’t work for your budget in any particular month. If you choose the credit card auto-pay method, the discount is 3%, which is still decent.
  • I get to earn points every month that can be redeemed for rewards, like a faster phone upgrade or snazzy new device accessories, like my Otterbox protective case for my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone. I simply logged into my account, chose the case I wanted and received it in the mail within just a few days and the best part is that the shipping was even free!
  • Oh, and I have to say I’m looking forward to my birthday in November, since I’ll earn 50 points as a “gift” from U.S. Cellular for being on a reward plan.

Here are a few more of the U.S. Cellular Rewards Program highlights:

  • Whether you’re new to U.S. Cellular or a long time customer, signing up for a rewards-eligible plan means you can start earning points toward faster phone upgrades, accessories and more with the Rewards Program
  •  U.S. Cellular offers a valuable rewards program that recognizes loyalty. Registering is easy and you will start to earn points every month to use for a variety of rewards.
  • In addition to earning points by simply being a U.S Cellular customer on a rewards-eligible plan, you can also earn points by attending device workshops or by referring a friend.
  • U.S. Cellular treats their customers like neighbors not numbers.
  • You can redeem points in store, online, or by calling Customer Service and managing your points is a breeze using “My Account.”

Disclosure: I’m a compensated member of the U.S. Cellular Better Moments Blogger Brigade, but I’m also a happy customer and opinions are always my own! I’m looking forward to sharing more of their products and services with you.

This is misleading. US cellular changed the Belief program “No contract”. If you get a new discounted phone you must sign a two year contract. Also they now have terrible customer service. You can easily spend over 30 minutes waiting to talk to someone.

    • Thank you for the comment Blake. As a fellow customer I completely understand your frustration with the change back to signing contracts. U.S. Cellular has assured me this was not an easy decision, but one they felt was best in order to adapt to all of the changes in the mobile industry. In the end, it allows them the ability to offer their customers more products and services, which ultimately benefits all of us. As far as your experience with customer service, I’m very sorry to hear you experience such lengthy hold times. I can personally say this has never happened to me and I hope it improves for you. I’m happy to answer any questions you have regarding this, or any other concerns, you might have.

Kathy, I love the political answer from US cellular. I am not sure improvements in service this has made for US cellular. I have been reading that there is speculation that it is a move to get ready for the sale of the company. Thanks for your reply.
