Procrastination

If there is one thing I’m really good at, it’s procrastination. I was telling someone today about how I’m struggling to hang in there for November’s NaBloPoMo, but I’m no quitter and I’m far too competitive (mostly with myself) to give up. I’m realizing it’s a lot of writing, which probably wouldn’t be quite so bad if I wasn’t already doing a great deal of writing for another site during the day, which not only takes up a chunk of my time, but also a lot of cooperation from my wrists. I vow every day that I will take a short break and give my hands a little rest after my “work” day and then give my blog the focus and attention that it deserves, but before I know it, it’s 11:30 at night and I’m sitting here with my computer on my lap, half watching and half listening to Legally Blonde on the television (judge me all you want because it’s a personal favorite and I simply adore Reese Witherspoon).

A Perfect Friday Night

This is actually a pretty good ending to a week that had some major ups and downs. If I actually had the guts to ride a roller coaster, I’d imagine it would feel just like this week has been for me. Really, though, the downs were more like minor speed bumps and the ups were pretty darn awesome and I can’t wait to share one in particular very soon. For now I will just say I’ve had a nearly perfect Friday that ended with a glass of wine, too many slices of pizza and a really funny movie (not Legally Blonde, but We’re the Millers, which I watched earlier with Paul) and now I really need to get to bed because tomorrow will be filled with house cleaning and bathing of dogs and a run of at least 5 miles because I’m a crazy person who is training for my FIRST half marathon at the age of 41 and three quarters. My birthday is just one week away….let me know if you’d like a link to my Amazon WishList.
