National Blog Posting Month – I flunked

I was doing well with the challenge of NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month). Maybe I wasn’t writing long posts filled with hundreds of words every single day, but I made it a priority just the same. Then I went away for the weekend with my family. Sometimes visiting and spending time with my family and favorite extended family isn’t such a good thing, for something like a commitment to write every single day. I wouldn’t trade that time for anything and certainly not for more posts on my blog. I am, however, disappointed that I didn’t plan better and set aside the time to focus on writing for a short amount of time while we were visiting. I know that everyone would have been supportive and understood, but I got a little discouraged on the first night when we had some internet connection issues where we were staying. The next morning when I woke up I felt like I had lost momentum, like I had failed somehow. Had I planned better, I’m sure I would have been more successful, but I didn’t. I’m not going to beat myself up over it, though. I wanted to get into the habit of writing more often, and I did that, I just didn’t succeed at completing NaBloPoMo for November.

I had a relaxing time with my husband and my kids while visiting family and I had a wonderful time at an event while representing one of my favorite brands. I can’t possibly be disappointed in any of that, but in the future I’ll just plan better. Or maybe I won’t. Probably I won’t.

  1. I love your honesty Cathy. I’m impressed that you gave it a shot! Writing every day on my blog just isn’t possible (or is it?).
