I’d Like to be a Better Blogger

I like the beginning of a new month. I love that it is a chance to start fresh and set new goals to work toward. From health and fitness goals to blogging goals, a new month offers the opportunity to try new things, make a few changes, and focus on the stuff I could never seem to accomplish in prior months. I’d like to be a better blogger. I realize that’s a pretty vague statement and could mean so many different things to every one of us, but it’s something I’ve felt for a very long time. First, I’d simply like to start writing more often which is why I’m sitting here on the first day of a new month adding a post to this tiny little blog of mine in the hopes I can start off March on a productive foot and get things rolling in the right direction. I’m not sure I’ll be able to write every single day in the month of March, but I certainly plan to try. At the very least, I think I will aim for a new post on every weekday, and consider the weekends as bonus extras. Mostly, I’d like to set a realistic goal so that I can set myself up for success rather than failure. One of the biggest challenges is coming up with something to write about or maybe even something to vlog about. Doing more videos has been an ongoing goal that I’ve had, so I really want to put that at the top of my priority list. I’ve read that creating an editorial calendar is a great way to get organized and plan ahead, but until now I’ve never seriously considered it as a helpful tool. Maybe that would be a good place to start, right? Maybe if I take the time to fill in those little boxes on the days of a calendar it will be a good way to keep me visually focused and hold myself accountable. Maybe it will be a way to feel a little less overwhelmed and maybe, just maybe, it will make all the difference in reaching my goal to be a more productive blogger. I’d be utterly grateful for any advice. Do you have a tip or trick that keeps you on track and focused throughout the month? Is there one thing that has made all the difference for you as a blogger? If so, please share……I’m begging you, please?

  1. Having an editorial calendar has really helped me stay on track. I use it as a guide, but am very open to switching things around. My best piece of advice-just see how it goes. Write when you feel inspired, not because you have to. I think you already are a fantastic blogger.

    • Thank you so much, Lori! I really want to get the hang of using a calendar, but I also think I need to spend some quality time brainstorming topic ideas. I would never want it to feel forced or not authentic, so it is definitely a fine line of wanting to write more often while staying true to myself. Thank you again! And you are pretty fantastic yourself!
