Green Irene Enzyme Cleaners – Review and Giveaway

When it comes to eco-friendly cleaning products it is sometimes a challenge to find something that cleans effectively and smells nice.  Let’s face it, we all likes smells, at least I do.  I don’t like artificial smells, though, because they are often synthetically manufactured and aren’t healthy for our bodies or the environment.
Green Irene has a great new line of cleaning products that are made with plant-derived enzymes and scented with essential oils.  I love essential oils and I love enzymes because of their ability to clean tough household germs without any nasty chemicals or toxic fumes.  I received their entire new line of enzyme cleaners and from the moment I smelled each one of them, I was very optimistic.  What’s really cool is that you get the bottles and small packets of the the concentrated cleaner so all you have to do is add it to the bottle and fill with water.  Once you use the entire amount in the bottle, you just add another packet of the concentrate and water and reuse again and again.  Talk about green!  I love that you just get one bottle and the only waste is the tiny packet that the concentrate comes in.
Here’s some of what I love about these products:

  • Stain and Odor Eliminator –  I have used more of this bottle than any other and I’ll tell you why.  We have two dogs and although we bathe them and keep them pretty clean, they are still dogs and well, there’s a dog smell.  Not only does this leave a nice fresh smell, but it’s also great for stains.  Oh my gosh, I was so skeptical, but there were a few spots on our carpet that needed attention.  We followed the directions perfectly and the stains disappeared.  It won’t be long before I need more of this one!
  • Kitchen Cleaner – First, this is scented with wild berry essential oil and smells so very lovely.  I sprayed all of my counter tops, the stove top, front of my dishwasher, and even the wooden cupboard doors.  It cleaned very nicely leaving no smears or film behind, only a really nice and clean scent.
  • Mildew Stain Eraser – I decided to put this one to the test in the bathroom, specifically in the tub/shower.  We don’t have a lot of mildew in there, but enough that it’s noticeable.  I sprayed and scrubbed with a brush (an old toothbrush is great for this) and the mildew was gone.  The only left behind was the scent of citrus essential oil and safe air for my family to breathe while in the shower.
  • Stainless and Glass Cleaner – We don’t have a lot of stainless steel, but we have plenty of glass.  I don’t really enjoy cleaning the class, but my husband seems to enjoy it, especially in the car.  Recently he was headed outside to clean the car and the windows so I asked him to try out the Green Irene cleaner.  He’s usually very picky and has asked many times for me to bring back some sort of *gasp* toxic *gasp* cleaner just for the windows.  To which, I always say no.  This time he was very pleased with the result.  He said it worked well and left now streaks.  No streaks is a really big deal and a true sign of success with glass cleaner.

I love that the focus is on using plant based ingredients and nothing toxic, but also that Green Irene provides a full ingredient list for their cleaners.  Try asking one of the toxic companies for their complete list.  Most likely, they won’t honor your request.  These are safe for you, your entire family, and the environment while cleaning effectively.  What’s not to love about that?
Ready for the the fun part?…..Green Irene would like to introduce one of you, my awesome readers, to their Enzymatic Clean Starter Kit (a $39.98 value), which includes five spray bottles, a floor cleaner bottle, one each of the concentrate packets, plus a reusable bag!!
