A Few Netflix Comedies to Watch & My Favorite Show on Amazon Prime

I’m kind of at a loss for words right now. I’ve literally been sitting here staring at my screen for what feels like forever because there’s a lot I’d like to write and share about, but my heart is heavy. There is so much sadness in our country right now and I’m tired, but I’m also hopeful. I’ve clung tightly to hope in the past and things turned around back then, but I believe it’s going to take a while and a lot of change before we can all feel good again. There’s so much healing that needs to happen and so much hate that needs to be replaced with compassion, understanding, and empathy and while we work on those we also need to take care of ourselves. That might look like getting lost in a good book, a conversation over coffee with an old friend, laughing with your family over a silly video, but the point is we can’t stop enjoying life. Please don’t do that.

Best Comedies on Netflix

One of my favorite ways to escape the real world is by watching some good television or speed watching a few shows on Netflix. Seriously, my most recent binges have been on what have become a few of my new favorite shows to watch. The problem with binge-watching, though, is that if you rush too fast it’s that much longer you have to wait for new episodes to be added. It’s a struggle my friends. A real struggle.

Here are some of the shows I’m currently watching (or currently not-so-patiently waiting for new episodes of) and would totally recommend if you’re looking for something new to watch. Fair warning, though, there are a few on this list that you’ll want to watch non-stop, but try to pace yourself. Think of it as a marathon, not a sprint.

  1. Schitt’s Creek – This is one I found on Netflix and wasn’t sure about at first, but OMG I love it. It’s so absurb (think obnoxious rich people out of touch with reality), but also pretty hilarious. The characters have all grown on me, especially David. His transformation has been magic to watch.
  2. Kim’s Convenience – This is another Netflix gem that I was hooked on from the first episode, which is probably why I’m sad with withdrawals because I raced through the two available seasons and cannot wait for season three to drop.
  3. Young & Hungry – I can’t believe I put off watching this one for so long. It’s on, you guessed it, Netflix, and while Elliot often got on my nerves the chemistry of the cast makes it a fun sitcom. It’s a bummer we won’t get the movie they teased, but if you’ve got some time to waste this series is worth checking out.
  4. Ozark – Oh my gosh, seriously. I swear I’m not doing this on purpose, but this one’s another amazing Netflix find. My husband and I both can’t get enough of this show. It’s a drama and can be a little dark at times, but it’s also a show that will keep you up super late at night to watch………just one more episode. There are only 2 seasons, but the second was my favorite. Let’s just say the women own that season. Some seriously tough-as-nails badass women.
  5. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel – Okay, let’s switch gears (and platforms) for a moment and talk about another show Paul and I love watching together. This one’s an Amazon Prime Original and it feels like LITERALLY forever since we laughed our way through Season 1, but thankfully the wait is finally almost sort of over because Season 2 premieres on December 5. You know what that means, don’t you? If you start Season 1 now AND PACE YOURSELF you’ll finish it just in time to watch Season 2 without having to wait. Yay, you!

Okay, we are watching way more shows than this right now, but I’ll save some to share for another time, you know, when you’ve run out of episodes of the above series to watch. If you’re anything like me it won’t take long at all.
